RIO DE JANEIRO STEPS INTO ARCHITECTURE’S INTERNATIONAL CALENDAR WITH RIO ACADEMY’S FORUM
The International Forum of Architecture and Urbanism brings together a team of Pritzker and other renowned architects, academics and professionals from various fields between July 20 – 26, at the Modern Art Museum of Rio de Janeiro (MAM). Organized by Rio Academy, the event, which is part of the celebrations of the 450 years of Rio de Janeiro, debates solutions for the city and rewards the best projects developed during the Forum. Registration is open and can be made via the site www.rio.academy. Comprising two days of conferences and five days of workshops, the event is open to all parties interested in the central theme: The Future of Big Cities in Emerging Countries. The first day of conferences with the participation of Paulo Mendes da Rocha, Brazil’s only living holder of the Pritzker Prize, the highest award in the world of architecture; Bjarke Ingels Group(BIG), office based in Copenhagen and New York, and holder of several awards; Triptyque Architecture, agency based in São Paulo and Paris, with worldwide recognition; and Alejandro Aravena, known for its slum upgrading project and exhibition at MoMA in New York.
